One of the biggest mistake a business can make is forgetting to maintain a relationship with a new customer. New customers are important, but we often put whole lot of energy in converting a potential customer into a customer, and as soon as we make a sale, we forget all about them and start chasing more new customers. but let me repeat that. The really big profit in your business could be in increasing sales to the people who are already your customers.

Why is that?

It is generally much easier and lot cheaper, to sell something else to am existing customer than to find and win a new customer. this means they should be more profitable. Earning the TRUST of the new customer is one of the biggest challenging obstacle you have to overcome.  On the other hand if you have already sold something to a customer and they trust you product or service, chances are they will buy more from you. So your chances of selling some thing to them increases dramatically.

Summary

To summarize, I always believe that we need to satisfy and take care of existing customers very well as they contribute more to our revenues than new customers.  Both, current customers and existing customer are important, but never neglect the existing customer. try satisfying them to their need and win more business.
